Performance on the Jones Center Roof Deck Moon Medicin is an aural and optical experiment conducted by interdisciplinary artist Sanford Biggers. This live work weaves found images and the music of jazz, funk, punk, animation, film noir, and sci-fi with original video art and songs. The Freedom Principle: Experiments in Art and Music, 1965 to Now is a multigenerational group exhibition on view at Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago July 11 through November 22. It includes Sanford’s work. Curated by Naomi Beckwith and Dieter Roelstraete, the exhibition was recently reviewed in The Guardian and has a comprehensive microsite that explores a rich cultural context. The exhibition will travel to ICA Philadelphia in 2016.
